Ferries to Norway

norway ferries There are two ferries which sail to direct to Norway.
The first sails from Newcastle to Stravanger, then on to Haugesund and Bergen, this is with Fjord line ferries, this is a 19 hour sailing to the first stop, with extra journey times to the second and third destination.
The second sails from Newcastle to Kristiansand and then on to Gothenburg in Sweden, this is with DFDS Seaways. Both sailings are offered twice weekly all year round.
Both of these sailings are over night.

Stravanger is referred to as Norway's largest small town, its delightful collection of small wooden houses and cobble streets make this the perfect get away destination. This is Norway's fourth largest city and is located on the south west cost of the country.

Kristiansand port is often referred to as Norway's gateway to Europe, because of its excellent location and short crossings as well as the frequent sailings to neighbouring countries.
Once at the port it has excellent road, rail (buy train tickets now!) and bus networks to allow you to quickly move to your destination. Car hire is available from the port. Find the hotel to suit your needs here!

DFDS Seaways offer a mini cruise package to Kristiansand from Newcastle, this is a 3 night mini break which stops at Kristiansand and then on to Gothenbury.
The luxury liner will get you to Gothenbury in 26 hours, giving you the opportunity to sample the night-life of the city, as well as offering you accommodation on board and early the next morning sailing back to Newcastle.
