Sailing with Brittany Ferries, from Poole takes 130 minutes on a high speed crossing and this service is offered daily. However slower ferries are available with P&O and Brittany Ferries.
All ferries are equipped with means of entertainment and activities to make the journey more enjoyable, including restaurants and bars, play areas and activity centres, as well as shops.
The Vikings invaded Cherbourg because of its excellent location and they not only developed a port but also a town. Duke William of Normandy and his wife lived here also for a period. This town plays an important part in exciting the Normandy history.
The town has evolved since the Vikings into a large and busy town.
