Calais had a very important role to play in the second world war as a coastal town, the town and area is very proud of their history.

Visit the local castles or churches, which tell the history of the town. Or perhaps you would prefer to find family activities to keep you busy, such as horse riding or cycling. Car hire is available from the port giving you access to the rest of the country, the rail network is also excellent. Book your train tickets as well!
